Why did Jesus have to die on a cross for our sins?

What is the importance of the blood of Jesus? Why is the blood necessary for the remission of sins? Today I hope to give you simple and clear explanations on why Jesus died on the cross for the remissions of sins, and why his blood is the only thing that can cover your sins.

Years ago God gave Moses and the children of Israel an ordinance to follow. The children of Israel were in bondage as slaves in Egypt. God chose Moses to bring his people out of bondage and bring them into a new land. The Pharoah of Egypt refused to let the people go, so God caused plagues to come upon Egypt, therefore warning the Pharoah. One plague was that the first-born of men would die. God told the Israelites that they could sacrifice a Lamb without spot or blemish and smear the blood upon their doorpost at a certain time. During Passover, if they had the blood on their doorpost, their firstborn would be spared. (Exodus 12:1-13). So the Israelites did as God commanded and none of their people were killed.

Then when the Israelites were freed from Egypt, God told them to continue this ordinance throughout their generations (Exodus 12:14 and Leviticus 17:11). He often reminded Moses and his people of this ordinance and told them that the blood was an atonement for the soul. So the Israelites carried out this ordinance for many years.

Then God sent a lamb, which was Jesus Christ, as the atonement for sin. 1 Peter 1:19 says that we are redeemed by “the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

Where did sin come from?  When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, sin came unto the world, all men must one day die. Romans 5:19- For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one, shall many be made righteous. The Bible tells us that we can be resurrected unto Jesus Christ if we believe and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. 1 Corinthians 5:21-22-For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Heaven doesn’t have corruption or sin, therefore we must one day die, Most Christians know that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, because God loved us and sent his son as a sacrifice for our sins, but some may not know the reason that we needed a Savior.

Why was Christ able to die for our sins?  He was able to be the sacrifice because he was without blemish; he was without sin (1 Peter 1:19, Hebrews 4:14,15 and Hebrews 7:26). God said that without shedding of blood is no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22.) Hebrews 9:11-14- by his own blood he entered into once the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Hebrews 9:12-  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.  9:24 holy place in Heaven. Hebrews 10:19-20.

What is Grace

Grace is unmerited favor. Grace is giving another chance to someone who wrongs us over and over again. Grace is an overpowering, overwhelming love from the Father. It’s not forced. It’s slow in anger, long-suffering, an unsurmountable forgiveness without question or conditions. Grace is having compassion on someone despite rejection. Grace is a retribute of godliness.
Jesus showed grace when he became a sacrifice on an old rugged cross for the sins of the whole world. He suffered and died for those who rejected him, cursed him, spit on him, whipped him and even tortured him.
The Father doesn’t force anyone to accept him. He freely gives us our own choice. Even though he is the creator, he wants us to live a happy life and have a free heart to choose who we will serve. Grace is when God gives us our own choice, whether we repent of our sins, or whether we have a personal relationship with him or not. He still gives us life, love, blessings and compassion. Think of what he has in store for those who love him and come to him freely.

Love Others

love11115
Our Heavenly Father loves us but he wants us to learn to love others too.  I’m not talking about your wife or your sister but I’m talking about loving others like they are your family.  Don't worry what color of skin they have, don't worry about what political views they have, love them.  The Bible tells us to love our enemies and pray for them.  Thats a hard thing to do is to love our enemies, but that is what Jesus did.  He loved those that hung him on the cross.  He loved those that beat him and spit upon him.  He did many wonderful things for those that didn’t love him back.
There is so much hate in the world. Let us learn to love others more than ourselves. John 13:34 says:  A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  1 John 4:7-8 says: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

This world would be so much better if people loved others as much as self.  People would help their neighbors.  They would feed the hungry.  They wouldn’t see color of peoples sin, but have compassion on the injured.  They wouldn’t be mean to others or kill others because they would love them.  This year I ure you to try to love others more than you do today.  Love your enemies.  Try to find good in them.  Speak words of kindness instead of words of hate.  Quit worrying so much about yourself and what you didn’t get.  Or what someone else has that you don’t.  Learn to love others so much that you would give them your last dollar.  Love others enough to give them a coat to stay warm or shoes for their feet. We should strive to be more like Jesus and I know he would do those things.

Defending the Gospel of Christ

faith45

There may be a day coming where one may not be able to teach Jesus Christ in public. The church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:20). Anyone who comes along and claims to have a new word from God or tries to add to the faith is against Scripture.  All over the world there are some trying to get rid of anything that proclaims Jesus.  As Christians, our duty is to stand for the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Tell others about his love for mankind and contend for the truth!
